How to Get Your First Book Published?

First things first

Writing is not an easy task. To become a successful writer, you need to make sure you extensively read the work of acclaimed writers from different genres.

Getting your first book published through a publisher

First and foremost, you’ll need a publishing agent who can connect you to the right publisher, who has the volition as well as the inclination to get the right book and can introduce an accomplished writer to the people. Even if you are confident about your work, still be prepared for rejections as your point of view might not match with the publishers you meet.

Be ready to face criticism

Success and failure are two sides of the same coin. Many people might criticise the content of your book. Make it a point that you do not change the aesthetics or tonality of the book you’ve written. Your book is a reflection of your ideas and imagination and there is no need to alter them as per the whims, fancies and idiosyncrasies of the publishers or people.

Going Self-Publishing

If you want to independently publish your first book then there are certain things that you need to keep in mind. You should not be in a hurry to see your work published. Do as many edits as possible, not only the grammar but also the plot and characters. Ask others to go through your work and give their opinions. You need to work hard, smart and also spend some amount of money. Do not forget to promote your book on social media as that would ensure strong publicity.
